Captain Alfredo H. Givens
Joined the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in 1994.
Originally from Walterboro, S.C., but raised in Beaufort County.
Captain Alfredo H. Givens oversees the Special Services Section of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and the daily operations of the Community Resource Officer, Courthouse Security, Juvenile Services and School Resource Officer units. Captain Givens is the Sheriff’s Office liaison for the Beaufort County School District.
Captain Givens started his law enforcement career in 1994 with Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy and later as a School Resource Officer at Robert Smalls Middle School. In 1997, he accepted a position with Beaufort City Police Department as a Patrol Officer and, later, as a School Resource Officer at Beaufort High School.
He returned to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in 1999 as a supervisor of the School Resource Officer unit. In that role, he rose through the ranks to Captain.
