Lieutenant Tom Vido

Lieutenant Tom Vido supervises the daily operations of the Criminal Records, the Civil Process, and the Criminal Warrants sections of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. In this capacity, Lieutenant Vido oversees civilian personnel and deputy sheriffs assigned to fulfil public record requests, serve civil processes, serve arrest warrants, extradition of wanted persons, the issuance of non-ferrous metal permits and the transportation of patients from hospitals to mental health facilities throughout the state.

Lieutenant Vido began his career with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in August 1991 as a patrol deputy with the Southern Enforcement Branch. In June 1996, he left the Sheriff’s Office to pursue a position as a wildlife officer with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR).

He returned to the Sheriff’s Office in June 1997 at the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to patrol. In 2006, he was transferred to the Administrative Division and promoted to Master Sergeant. He was promoted to Lieutenant in November 2016 and assumed his current role.
