Executive Assistant

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a well-qualified individual to be a part of the Administrative Division as an Executive Assistant.

Under general supervision, this position is assigned to the Southern Enforcement Branch of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, and is to perform more complex administrative and clerical duties for the Southern Enforcement Branch Major, Captain, and Lieutenant. The ideal candidate is expected to perform general, semi-routine, or diversified duties requiring judgment in the application of broader aspects of established practices and procedures.

The Executive Assistant position requires the ability to compose and prepare agency reports, records and correspondence, and requires the ability to understand and execute complex written and oral instructions. Excellent computer, telephone and public relations skills are also essential.

This position may be assigned other duties as necessary, and is under the supervision of the Southern Enforcement Branch Master Sergeant.

The Executive Assistant position is an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., full-time position assigned to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office located at 70 Shelter Cove Lane, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Minimum Training and Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18-years-old
  • Must be a US citizen or legally permitted to work in the US
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
  • Clean criminal record: no felony, serious misdemeanors or convictions of any crime of moral turpitude
  • Good credit history
  • Candidates who have been in the military must have received an Honorable Discharge
  • Fluent in the oral and written communication of the English language and have outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent clerical skills such as typing, computer skills, and organizational skills
  • Be able to use standardized forms and documents
  • Must have the ability to deal with, and resolve, assorted issues or problems
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

SALARY, INCENTIVES & BENEFITS

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has a highly competitive pay plan.

The starting salary is $40,310 annually and is dependent upon education and experience.

This position is eligible to receive an annual pay increase based on satisfactory performance evaluations.

Pay Incentives for Education and Spanish Fluency
Pay incentives are offered for higher education, prior experience and for those who can demonstrate fluency in reading, writing and speaking the Spanish language.
