This morning, Oct. 19, 2021, a Sun City Hilton Head resident reported she was abducted and robbed at gunpoint.
Sometime after 9:00 this morning, a woman reported that a male subject armed with a handgun entered her Argent Way (Sun City) residence and demanded money.
When the woman advised the subject that she did not have any money in the house, he forced her to drive him in her car to a local bank and withdraw money.
After taking the money from the woman, the subject demanded she drive him back to her residence.
A short time after they returned to the woman’s residence, the subject fled on foot toward the Lake Somerset Gate off S.C. Highway 170.
The woman was not injured during the incident.
Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies, investigators, K-9 units and helicopter are in the area of Sun City searching for the subject.
The subject is believed to be a Hispanic male, between 50 and 60 years old, wearing dark clothing, a blue face mask and a black knit cap.
Forensic artists from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are responding to meet with the woman and prepare a composite sketch.
