Lieutenant Alan Langford

Lieutenant Alan Langford supervises the daily operations of the Criminal Records, the Civil Process, and the Criminal Warrants sections of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. In this capacity, Lieutenant Langford oversees civilian personnel and deputy sheriffs assigned to fulfil public record requests, serve civil processes, serve arrest warrants, extradition of wanted persons, the issuance of non-ferrous metal permits and the transportation of patients from hospitals to mental health facilities throughout the state.

Prior to his current assignment at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Langford over Support Services where he supported radio communications for deputies, civilian employees and dispatchers. 

He began his career with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol deputy with the Northern Enforcement Branch for seven years, until he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to the Southern Enforcement Branch. At the Southern Enforcement Branch, he served as an assistant shift supervisor for almost three years. He was then promoted to Staff Sergeant and assumed the role of patrol shift supervisor. In 2010, as a Staff Sergeant, he was transferred back to the Northern Patrol Branch to supervise a patrol shift. At the Northern Patrol Branch, he was promoted to Master Sergeant and supervised the four patrol shifts. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2019.
