Sheriff’s Office seeks man wanted for Burton area shooting

Investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of 26-year-old Marquise Rayshawn Singleton of Burton.  Singleton is wanted for aggravated breach of peace and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.

On December 6, 2022, at approximately 10:04 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Burton’s Possum Hill Road area after several callers reported hearing gunfire in the area.  Deputies determined that at least one residence was struck by a bullet. This was the second report of gunfire in the area during the same week.  The first occurred on December 4, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Investigators were able to develop probable cause for the arrest of Marquise Rayshawn Singleton for aggravated breach of peace and discharging a firearm into a dwelling for the December 6th event.

Marquise Singleton is currently out on bond after a November 3, 2022 arrest for kidnapping and assault and battery.

Anyone with information on Marquise Rayshawn Singleton’s whereabouts or with information about the incidents on Possum Hill Road is encouraged to contact Investigator Adam Kremer at 843-255-3294 or if wishing to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
