Social media is an important communication tool, but residents and visitors should also download the Everbridge app to receive important alerts directly on their mobile devices.
Everbridge is used to distribute emergency notifications, severe weather information, traffic advisories and other time-sensitive public safety messages. The Sheriff’s Office also identifies Everbridge and its verified social media accounts as official sources for confirmed public safety information.

Need Law Enforcement Assistance?
For emergencies, call 9-1-1.
For situations requiring law enforcement assistance that are not emergencies, call the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Dispatch line at 843-524-2777. The line is available 24/7, and callers can request to speak with a deputy.
Do not use social media to report an emergency, report a crime or request an immediate law enforcement response. Sheriff’s Office social media platforms are not continuously monitored and should not be used as a substitute for calling 9-1-1 or Non-Emergency Dispatch.
Whether online, through Everbridge or by phone, knowing how to connect with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office helps ensure you know where to turn when you need information or assistance.
