On November 10, 2007, 36-year-old Lee Anderson was found dead in his Peanut Lane, St. Helena Island residence. Anderson’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators learned that Anderson spoke with his girlfriend and others on the morning of November 10, but, by early afternoon, they were unable to reach him.
Later that day, friends went to Anderson’s residence to check on him and found him deceased inside.
It was reported to investigators that Anderson dealt marijuana and other legal drugs, which was supported when items associated with drug sales were found inside his home.
It was also reported that Anderson was in possession of a large amount of drugs and cash on the day of his death, making robbery a likely motive.
As the investigation progressed, persons of interest were identified, but witnesses and evidence fell short of the threshold of probable cause to file charges.
Evidence from the crime scene is continually evaluated in the hopes that advances in forensic science will move the case forward.
