At approximately 5:00 pm on March 31, 2013, 40-year-old Darryl Green was found deceased in the road in front of 10 Staffwood Lane in Burton.
Forensic autopsy would reveal that Green died as result of multiple gunshot wounds. It was learned that the shooting was witnessed by several people, who refused to cooperate in identifying the subjects.
Green, a former resident of Beaufort County, had been living in Georgia at the time of his shooting death. He was known to be involved in dealing illegal drugs.
Information was received that Green may have been lured to the scene under the pretense of a drug transaction.
