Man charged following Burton shooting incident

Deputies were called to 147 Shanklin Road, Burton, SC at approximately 5:40 a.m., Friday, September 9. for a report of a man shooting at a woman. No gunshot victims were located at the scene.

Through interviews, deputies learned that Nehemiah Wilson, 39 of Beaufort, discharged a firearm into a vehicle parked in front of the home at 147 Shanklin Road. Two women were sitting in the vehicle when Wilson fired at them; neither woman sustained any injuries. The shooting occurred after an argument between Wilson and one of the occupants inside the vehicle.

Wilson was located and detained at the scene.

Investigators processed the crime scene and found evidence consistent with the statements provided by the women.

Consequently, Nehemiah Wilson was charged with two counts of attempted murder as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
