Registration for the Fall 2023 Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is now open– space is limited so apply at the link below!
The CPA program is a free, 9-week program for adults. Participants meet once a week and learn about the many divisions and units within the Sheriff’s Office. Topics covered include Patrol Operations, 911 Dispatch Center, Criminal and Cold Case Investigations, Forensic Laboratory, the Firearms Training Simulator (FATS) and additional safety and crime prevention presentations.
During the program, participants will spend one Saturday learning more about and viewing demonstrations by the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Teams (SWAT, K9 Units and Bloodhound Tracking Team, etc.).
At the conclusion of the program, participants are afforded the opportunity to ride-a-long with a patrol deputy.
For convenience, the program is offered at locations in both northern and southern Beaufort County.
The first class for those registered in the Northern Beaufort County CPA program is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at a location in Beaufort.
The first class for those registered in the Southern Beaufort County CPA program is scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at a location in Bluffton.
