Members of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office joined fellow law enforcement agencies and community partners Tuesday morning at Walmart, 350 Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort, to participate in Serve & Connect’s Greg’s Groceries initiative.
Together, participants packed 300 boxes of groceries containing various food items to be distributed to local families experiencing food insecurity.
The initiative brings law enforcement officers and community members together to help families in need while fostering positive relationships and strengthening community trust.
Greg’s Groceries was founded by Kassy Alia Ray in honor of her husband, Forest Acres Police Department Officer Greg Alia, who was killed in the line of duty in 2015. The program continues his legacy of service through Serve & Connect’s mission of building positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful initiative alongside its law enforcement partners and remains committed to supporting programs that make a positive difference throughout Beaufort County.
