Sheriff’s deputies responded to Old Jericho Road in Beaufort on February 17, 2022, at approximately 5:00 PM for an armed robbery that had just occurred. Employees reported that a male subject, who claimed to be armed with a handgun, robbed the business of cash before leaving the area.
Sheriff’s Office investigators as well as the Bloodhound Tracking Team responded to assist. Andrew Brown, 37 of Beaufort, was identified as a possible suspect in the robbery.
Brown was arrested on an unrelated robbery charge on February 22, 2022, and has remained incarcerated at the Beaufort County Detention Center since.
Sheriff’s Office investigators were able to forensically link Brown to the February 17 robbery through DNA evidence collected from the crime scene. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Andrew Brown, charging him with Armed Robbery. The warrant was served upon Brown at the Beaufort County Detention Center earlier today. He will have a bond hearing on August 18th.
