On June 6, 2022, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an assault and battery at a residence on Melody Lane, St. Helena Island.
When deputies arrived they learned that 19-year-old Vincent Medlock had assaulted family members and discharged a firearm. One of the projectiles struck a vehicle parked outside the residence. No one was wounded by gunfire.
Following the incident, Medlock fled the residence on foot.
Deputies set up a perimeter and deployed K9s to search for Medlock. The K9 track was successful and, late this afternoon, deputies located Medlock.
He was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with three counts of assault and battery, use of a vehicle without permission and malicious injury to personal property.
