The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants for the arrest of Daniel Adame-Guatemala in connection with the shooting death of Christian Hernandez on February 24, 2022 in Burton, SC.
Case History
At around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Godwin Mobile Home Park, 159 Joe Frazier Rd., Burton.
When deputies arrived, they secured the scene for Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedics to respond and render aid to the adult male gunshot victim.
At the scene, EMS paramedics evaluated the wounded man; he was pronounced dead of apparent multiple gunshot wounds.
The deceased man was identified by the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office as 29-year-old Christian Hernandez.
Deputies interviewed witnesses and learned that the subject, identified as Hernandez’s stepson 22-year-old Daniel Adame-Guatemala, shot Hernandez and left the scene in a pickup truck prior to their arrival.
Sheriff’s Office investigators were called to the scene to process for forensic evidence and continue interviews of witnesses; Adame-Guatemala was not located.
Obtaining of Arrest Warrants
On the morning of Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, investigators met with a Beaufort County magistrate and obtained arrest warrants for Adame-Guatemala for Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime in Hernandez’s shooting death.
Adame-Guatemala – Still at Large
Daniel Adame-Guatemala has not been apprehended. He is Hispanic, 5’07” tall, approximately 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Adame-Guatemala may be traveling in a silver 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck with South Carolina license plate PDZ784.

Adame-Guatemala is listed in the National Crime Information Center as wanted for Murder; he is to be considered armed and dangerous.
