Captain Jacqueline D. LeGree

Captain Jacqueline D. LeGree, a seasoned law enforcement professional, currently holds a pivotal leadership role as she supervises the Evidence and Property Section for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. In this capacity, she is entrusted with overseeing the receipt, identification, categorization, and storage of all property collected and submitted by Sheriff’s Office personnel.
Captain LeGree is responsible for developing, planning, and managing the Evidence and Property Section budget. She is also responsible for supervising daily operations and personnel staff, as well as detailing quality services and training related to the Preservation of Act Standards and CALEA Accreditation requirements.
Captain LeGree’s law enforcement career, which began in 1991 with the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety, is a testament to her unwavering commitment to justice. Her exceptional skills and dedication were soon recognized, and in 1999, Sheriff P.J. Tanner recruited her as a Victims Advocate assigned to Southern Beaufort County. In this role, Captain LeGree played a crucial part in ensuring that all rights of a victim/witness were upheld in accordance with the Victim’s Bill of Rights.
In 2004, Captain LeGree’s exceptional career trajectory continued as she was promoted to Master Sergeant and assigned as the agency’s General Sessions Coordinator. In this role, she tracked and ensured the integrity of all General Sessions cases through the adjudication process, as well as prepared and presented criminal cases to the Grand Jury for indictment.
