Major Jeff Purdy
Joined the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in 1993.
Originally from Coral Springs, Fla.
Major Jeff Purdy is the Southern Enforcement Branch Commander for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. In this role, he oversees patrol and investigation operations in Southern Beaufort County, which includes areas south of the Broad River. He also oversees the Special Operations Section of the Sheriff’s Office.
During his career with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Purdy has served in the following capacities: patrol deputy, criminal investigator, crime scene investigator, patrol shift supervisor, SWAT team member, supervisor for the Northern Criminal Investigations Section, investigator with the Environmental Crimes Unit, Marine Patrol Unit member, assistant supervisor of Courthouse Security; and as a Lieutenant supervising the Northern Criminal Investigations Section, Victim Advocacy, Sex Offender Registry and Crime Scene Unit.
