Paradise Lane shooting investigation leads to arrest of Beaufort man

21-year-old Raul Francisco Doporto was arrested April 20, 2023, by investigators and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection to last week’s shooting on Paradise Lane in Grays Hill.

On April 13, 2023, a young man was shot in his abdomen while working outside at a home on Paradise Lane. He was taken into custody by deputies yesterday afternoon. Investigative efforts in this case lead to the recovery of several firearms and illegal narcotics. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.

Raul Doporto was out on bond at the time of this arrest. He was previously charged with aggravated breach of peace, attempted murder and other firearms charges in August of last year. He was released from jail after posting bond in September.
