At approximately 11:30 p.m., October 15, 2021, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired in a business parking lot on Bluffton Road in Bluffton.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult male — later identified as 23-year-old Marlon Lyons Jr. of Port Royal, South Carolina — lying unresponsive.
Deputies secured the scene and summoned paramedics.
A short time later, Lyons Jr. was pronounced dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
A forensic autopsy will be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina this week to confirm Lyons Jr.’s cause of death.
Overnight, the Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and investigators processed the scene of the shooting for forensic evidence and interviewed witnesses.
No subjects were found at the scene and, as of this time, no arrests have been made.
Anyone who has information is urged to contact Corporal Andrew Calore at 843-255-3411 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111, if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.
