On July 22, 2023, at approximately 1125, deputies were dispatched to an address on Stanley Road in Burton for a man who had been shot.
Deputies found an 18-year-old Burton man suffering from a single gunshot wound on the back porch of the residence.
Sheriff’s investigators and K-9 tracking teams responded.
The teen was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and later to the Medical University of South Carolina where he remains.
