The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the suspicious death of Marcus Graves, whose body was found on Nov. 1, 2019, at the Grays Hill Boat Landing.
Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking information from the public to help bring answers to Marcus’ family and to hold accountable anyone involved in Marcus’ death.
CASE HISTORY
At approximately 8:50 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2019, Sheriff’s Office deputies and Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services responded to the Grays Hill Boat Landing regarding an unresponsive male in the marsh.
Upon arrival, EMS personnel confirmed that the male was deceased.
The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased male as 16-year-old Marcus Graves of Beaufort, and on Nov. 3, 2019, a forensic autopsy was performed at the Medical University of South Carolina.
The cause and manner of Marcus Graves’ death were deemed suspicious by forensic pathologists.
