On Monday, November 14, 2022, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office, recovered human skeletal remains from an area of greater Bluffton known as the Victoria Bluff Heritage Preserve.
At this time, the cause and manner of death, as well as the sex or race of the person is not known.
The Victoria Bluff Heritage Preserve and Wildlife Management Area is a portion of land managed by the South Carolina Department of Resources and can be used for hunting, fishing, wildlife or other natural resource observation, hiking, photography, environmental education, and interpretation.
