At approximately 11:15 a.m. on August 15, 2022, Beaufort County deputies, Bluffton Township Fire District, Beaufort County EMS and Sun City security personnel responded to a report of an alligator attack within Sun City.
Once on scene, emergency personnel located a deceased female, as well as an alligator.
The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office, as well as the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources also responded.
Around 1 p.m., the deceased was recovered and as of 3 p.m., personnel with SCDNR continue to work to locate and remove the alligator.
The investigation into this incident is being handled by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Beaufort County Coroner’s Office.
