Tip leads to arrest; seizure of controlled substances and counterfeit pills

An anonymous tip leads to the arrest of a Bluffton man and the seizure of several controlled substances and counterfeit pills.
 
Members of our Violent Crimes Task Force began a several months long investigation into illegal drug activity involving 34-year-old Alexander Perez of Bluffton following the anonymous tip.
 
On November 9, 2023, Perez was arrested in a business parking lot near his home on charges related to the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics/controlled substances. A subsequent search of his home was conducted, under the authority of a search warrant, where several controlled substances and counterfeit pills were seized.
 
Perez faces 21 charges related to the possession, sale, and distribution of illegal narcotics/controlled substances. He remains in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
