At approximately 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, there was an accident on Sea Island Parkway — US Hwy. 21, Lady’s Island — between Meridian Rd. and Youmans Dr.
In the accident, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed.
The portion of the road where the accident occurred is temporarily closed.
Traffic is being diverted through Meridian Rd. and Youmans Dr.
Motorists can expect delays over the next few hours.
Sheriff’s Office deputies are assisting with traffic control, while the South Carolina Highway Patrol investigates the accident.
